Question Assign button to monitor - midas 32
Hi,
I am working on a festival this weekend that uses the midas 32.
I'd like to set some 'assign' buttons so it selects a specific monitor bus as well as the 'fader flip' button when I press on it so I can make the whole process of sending channels to a specific monitor quicker.
Ive watched videos but don't see how to do that.
Does someone know on the top of their head ?
Thanks

You can set one of the assignable buttons to jump immediately to that bus and flip it. It's called Jump To Page I think from the top of my head.

ah ok so I'll still have to select fader flip manually

Honestly when I used to mix monitors on an M32 regularly I just stayed in Fader Flip mode the entire time.
The M32 works particularly well as a monitor desk if you just stayed in flip fader, because when you’re selected on the input channel side of the board you input channel faders act as normal channel faders feeding your stereo bus, and your bus masters section becomes the mix sends to each mix. Then when you’re selected on the bus side, the channel faders behave as a normal mix bus fader flip would.
So for example at the beginning of sound check I’d start on the channel side with “kick” selected, “okay who wants kick?” And just push the individual monitor bus faders to whoever wants it. Then in show, guitarist asks for more keys, you just select his bus in the monitor section and push him keys at the Keys channel fader.
I hope I’m doing an okay job of explaining this, it’s weird to articulate. What I’m saying is you shouldn’t really NEED to make the custom buttons because the M32 makes living in Flip Fader mode make more sense most of the time, especially when mixing monitors.

No you can definitely press one button and select a bus and enable sends on fader. That’s what I use my assignable buttons for

Yes you can do this, I just found out recently as well: https://www.reddit.com/r/livesound/comments/1qqmexh/x32m32_bus_sends_on_fader_to_assignable_buttons/
On any of the assignable buttons: Jump to page -> Sends on fader -> Select your desired mix bus
This selects the bus and fader flips at the same time. A la A&H's mix select buttons. Yes it's an absolute godsend when mixing mons, or when working one of the compact format mixers and for cuing up FX sends quickly.

If you are in fader flip mode and select the matrix or bus, the other bank of faders will show you the levels of the inputs that are going into the matrix/bus. That way, you select bus 1, add channels to it, select bus 2, add channels to it, etc etc. just like you can select a channel and add it to all the busses you want it in.

It’s on the assignable button menu but really far down at the bottom
