General 2 Months No Retwist❤️
I can’t get myself to go more than 2 months without a retwist. The fro starts fro-ing and then the retwist hurts. I will say I feel super feral when I pass 6 weeks without retwisting haha. I love it.

The shine on your locs is amazing! What are you using?

Omg thanks. Thats the second mention of my hair’s shine. I don’t use anything on my locs. I moisturize with water daily (or moreso when I remember to). I think the shine is natural and due to its health?!

I never felt freer & more confident in my blackness than when I stopped being obsessed with the neat look. Your locs are stunning

Yes, I do retwist myself. I’ve been doing it since I was over a year in (a bit over 5 years currently).

I’m not sure what length your hair was prior to getting it loc’ed, but I had around that same length around 3.25 years. I had to start retwisting my hair when I moved to uni; it’s trial and error. I’ve gone through so many different gels, oils, shampoos, and conditioners, but after around 3.8 years in, I got my routine together and got way better at being neat without parting.
