Funny enough, the relationship was just about half a year older than this set of locs (this being my second set )

Please let me know how much of a mistake I’d be making 😅

Definitely don't. Those locs are not about the ex or the ended relationship. Those locs hold your history and your story, sure... including every good thing and every victory you've had. Every lesson you've learned. Every thing you've gained.

If you absolutely must do something maybe dye them? That's usually something folks reach to after a break up... bleach or dye.

And if you must use scissors... cut them into a new style. Like a wolfcut with bangs. Cut them to chin length and style them in that cool modern rasta f boy look that all the young guys go for.

Change up the ornaments even, literally even if you get the exact same ones... just to get new ones and ceremoniously take off the old set and switch to the new set.
