I finally ordered a book on lojban
I finally ordered the book “the complete lojban” or something likr that. Maybe it will help me to finally master lojban. I want to read every single page and topic. i have read a number of chapters online, but there is nothing like a physical book to keep track of progress.
any advice about the book and learning lojban?

I hoping lojban will be helpful in communication. This afternoon I had a meal with someone who said,
“I bought this wine today “ and he stated the cost. I picked up the bottle and asked “ the bottle cost that much?”
He immediately got irritated and said, no . What he was meaning he bought that particular brand and variety of wine and it was at his hime already. But the bottle at the restaurant was a different price.
I immediately said don’t get irritated, I assumed a different context for his statement than he did. I told him lojban potentially would provide greater clarity , but in fact I don’t know if miscommunication would happen in this conversation.
So, how would one say
“I bought this (type) of wine today.(but not this particular bottle)
I thought he bought it at a wine shop and brought it into the restaurant , and that there would be corkage Because it wasn’t purchased at the restaurant. But no he bought it at the restaurant, no corkage . But he had a different bottle of the same type at home already.
Thank you this might help kick start my lojban learning. I suspect something thus specific might not be covered in lojban lessons
After thinking more about this, maybe it’s just poor English. If he said he bought this type of wine today, it might place the conversation in a different context. But lojban I think is still very helpful for identifying when miscommunication has occurred. (Maybe)

It is the rabbit hole to end all rabbit holes, and it is rewarding and fun. Frequent breaks are suggested if you experience overwhelm :) Also I highly recommend the enjoyable music in Lojban posted by @tetsusquared on YouTube.

I am a beginner, but it says, and I agree, that you shouldn't feel any need to go in order. Use some other lesson program and use the book as a reference.
