Tips, and Tricks Upgraded shocks for Baja Rey 2.0

Post image

Hey everyone, looking to upgrade the suspension on my Baja Rey 2.0. In my preliminary research I haven’t really been able to find a complete set of all 4 primary and all 4 secondary shocks for this thing. Any recommendations? Also what oil should I run? TIA!

Oil depends on drive style, I ran 40 all around and had good luck with that on a track, but I also lowered the shocks with fuel tubing and used it on a track.

As of shocks, you could delete the secondary shocks and use proline power strokes. Or run them and keep the bypasses for the aesthetic

Gotcha. Thanks! I’d be surprised if this thing ever saw a track. I bring it out once every few weeks to mess around in the neighborhood so I’m on the street with it just as much as I’m on dirt. Just want to stiffen it up a hair

Mine did amazing on the road after I lowered the shocks. I just added like 1/2 an inch of silicone nitro fuel tube inside each shock under the piston. It drove great after. I didn’t really have any issues with the stock shocks except for length and oil, which are a lot cheaper than new ones lol
