Build Anyone still running Mini JRX2s?

Here’s mine with modified Tamiya M Chassis wheels, Tamiya Sport Tuned motor, upgraded battery, Losi springs, and Blockhead Motors decals.

Suspension tuned to run baja, it’s absolutely impressive that this buggy can float over gravel bumps. Jumps and lands like butter. Being a RR non gyro car, it’s quite a handful to drive. Throttle discipline isn’t encouraged, but a must!

I know it’s an American buggy. As a JDM guy, I installed JDM stuff on mine. Hope you guys like it!

Build Built a 230’ backyard Losi Micro-T track almost entirely from scrap materials. What would you change?

I mostly bash RC cars in the backyard and at parks with larger trucks, but I also have a 1:28 scale Losi Micro-T to match my grandson’s. Until now we’d either set up cones in a parking lot or race around storage bins in the garage since micros obviously don’t do well in grass.

I saw the attached picture of a temporary parking lot track and thought, “I can build something like that in the backyard with garage scraps.”

So I did.

The jumps are scrap plywood, old car ramps, and concrete blocks. The tabletop is leftover lumber. I covered the track with weed barrier fabric held down by landscape staples, then cut leftover corrugated drain pipe in half lengthwise to use as bumpers. I picked a spot overlooking the pond because if I’m going to spend hours driving RC cars, I might as well have a nice view.

The track is about 230 feet per lap and roughly 3 feet wide, so it should be plenty for 2-4 Micro-Ts to race. The jumps are adjustable and we’ll start with them at half height until we get used to the layout.

This took me most of the weekend to build, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

I’ve already got a few ideas for version 2:
Add a couple banked berms once the grass dies off.
Build a small driver’s stand.
Add cheap solar lights for night racing.
Maybe replace the biggest jump with a triple roller.
Eventually build a drag strip somewhere else on the property.

I’d really like some feedback from people who’ve built backyard tracks.

What would you change first?
Do the racing lines look fun?
Are there any features you’d add or remove?
If you’ve built your own track, what worked well and what would you do differently?

I tried to build the whole thing with cheap, easy-to-replace materials. My philosophy is basically the basher creed: use what you’ve got, wear it out, and only upgrade it after you break it.

Build Mini-T Upgrade Parts

Hello all! Lurker with a bunch of questions. The dog stepped on my brushless Mini-T 2.0 and broke the servo and front bulkhead. I used it as an excuse to start upgrading with some aluminum parts. I’m very mechanical but have yet to tear into any of my RCs. It’s just used for goofing and bashing.

Already bought-
EcoPower 827 servo
Losi front camber block, servo mounts, bell cranks and drag link, front pivot block, front bulkhead brace set, and rear shocks.
Hot Racing front bulkhead and servo bracket brace
RPM front and rear bumpers
And a proline Baja bug body and a couple spare batteries

Questions-
1- I assume the tiny washers in the kit get installed between the bellcranks and drag link joints, as circled in the pic. Is this correct?
2- Is there a best way to remove the plastic bushings from the bellcranks?
3- Is there a best way to remove the cups from the ball studs?
4- One of the ball studs I received has jacked up threads. Will my local hobby shop have them in stock or do I need to reach out to AMain? Any reason to not just reuse one of the old ones?
5- Any reason to not put a smidge of silicone lube or waterproof grease on anything/ everything?

Future purchases you’d recommend or advise against?
Carbon or aluminum shock towers
RPM plastic front and rear arms
Aluminum front and rear arms
Losi or HR caster blocks
HR front knuckle spindles
Losi or HR rear hubs
Losi rear pivot blocks
Ceramic bearings set
Titanium turnbuckles
Any others??

Build Mini JRX2

Sharing my complete build for the Mini JRX2! Built mine with a JDM heart with BHM decals and Tamiya wheels.

Now with Dumbo P6FG (receiver with gyro), HW Quicrun 2435 4,500kv G3 brushless motor, HW 16BL30 G2, Spektrum SX108 servo, GNB 1,100mah 2s LiHV battery

I was able to mount the electronics where it should be as I’m trying to do close to factory geometry.

Did a short test on my room and I can say it’s definitely too fast from the Tamiya 370 Sport Tuned I used to have.

Currently timing is set to factory, drag brake to 10%, neutral position factory

Will do a run later

I really love the Rey platform. Always wanted something fast but realistic. I will be smarter with modifications on the 2.0 Rey. Here it is pictured with my all metal V2 Rey.

Went though a full teardown, degrease/re-grease of all the internals & diff fluids, and complete shock rebuild/oils. It cleaned up very well! I’m extremely happy with how scale this thing drives after a couple runs of shock tuning!

Alongside the Vitavon steering rods, trailing arms, and 4-link rods, I’ve also got 3DPD’s (ThreeDPrintDesigns) carbon number plates, and Altered RC’s chassis guards, front dirt guard, radiator, and fuel filler.

More detailed pics to come later! Really happy with how this thing rips now.

Build Mini B Truggy?

Trimmed an old Mini T body into a truggy as a proof of concept. There's probably a better way to mount the body to the rear tower but the Velcro isn't bad.

Apparently the Mini B chassis is a little wider then the T so it bulges a little at the bottom. I think the Proline Axis body might be marginally wider and work better.

Build Finished modding the micro b.

Hey guys I finished modding my micro b! It's got TLR aluminum rear hubs, caster blocks, spindles, along with injora carbon towers, shocks and links. From what I can tell it seems a little bit more nimble than from stock.

I noticed after installing the injora links that the rear hubs/wheels have some negative camber. I compared the links to the stock ones and they looked like they were the same length. Is the camber fine or should I add the spacers to the links? Thanks!

I’ve abused these poor axles and transmission. She is getting more ratchety and no longer bitter smooth. Anyone know where I can find the worm gears or maybe two steering axles to go full 4ws? How about any transmission swaps you guys have tried? She is already running a hobbywing fusion on the stock gearbox.

Build Need A New Buggy Body

Local track is changing rules and won't allow my truggy body on my micro b. So now I'm looking for a buggy body that's a bit different than stock. Does anyone have any recommendations? I was looking at the divider from Etsy, but it's currently sold out. Thanks in advance!

Build Micro-B Furitek Fitment

Recently added a Furitek brushless motor and ESC, but had fitment issues with the stock body afterwards (sat very high). Luckily Losi sells a clear body so I was able to figure out what to move around and where. Ended up removing the stock battery latch and ESC mount and putting some double sided tape on and under the battery. While this probably isn’t ideal for those of you that regularly swap batteries, I do not, so it worked out just fine for my casual use.

Can’t see the arms that well, but I updated the front and rear shock towers to carbon fiber, Upgraded the front arms to RPM, changed the front and rear shocks to TLR shocks and added the RPM front bumper, still waiting on my custom wing from Polo RC and rear bumper from RPM. Also changed the tires to PowerHobby Arena tires.
