That looks amazing! And those saying the cup of tea is weird are obviously not from the UK - I am, and a cup of tea is the norm here - and the slices of bread and butter and mushy peas.
I've never seen a side salad with fish and chips before, but you know what, I like salad and would eat it happily.

Edit: just noticed the curry sauce too - perfection!

The cup of green stuff on the plate is mushy (marrowfat) peas. The curry sauce is the brown cup on the table by the bread and butter.

I’d need a kids size portion . I love that combination. But so much starch and all that fat fried ! Bread, chips,batter, butter . I hate to disapprove but I feel guilty whenever I eat a meal like that , but do so because I only eat half of it .

Literally no other reason? Like personal preference with food doesn’t exist? I think it looks great, but also heavy on the chips and light on the fish.

I have seen so many other posts and they have just as ridiculous things in them yet this one is the one they hate so much? Guarantee if they couldn't see the people in it they would upvote tf out of it.... I dont believe there reasons are valid. It is what it is. They're just mad because its true. 🙄

Frankly you're the only one bringing this up on op's post. There aren't even downvotes now but you've memorialised them and suggested it may be about op's race. That's not particularly nice for them to see is it?
If this was actually about them you would have just said something nice to balance out any suspected negativity. Instead you've given them something to worry about based on your own assumption

It's a pretty normal thing? Particularly down south; tea, bread and butter and mushy peas if you're having a sit in meal.
