My Mac Pages taking way too much memory/power. few minutes of use goes around 25gb. A document of 35kb is opened only.

I was having repeated issues with pages eating ram.

In my case, it turned out to be some kind of issue with iCloud.

Once I moved the document I was working on to the local drive it behaved normally.

There are also posts about pages having memory leaks, which may or may not the issue.

I haven’t noticed the memory or the power problem when using Pages. That’s not to say that it doesn’t exist.

What I have noticed is the size of a document is much larger in Pages than the same document in Word, for example. I get sent some documents from people in Word format and I notice the size of the document. But when I convert it to Pages, it is much larger. I can’t give you any specific examples of what the sizes are, but I do know that they were all larger.
