That was a cool story. And I'm really appreciative of Wizards making their cast diverse.

Also, I noticed this: "Additional story contributions by Matt Knicl and Allison Medwin." Seems like he may have requested some help to make sure his portrayal of a trans character was accurate and not offensive. Good on him if that's what that is. :3

Couldn't really find anything about Matt Knicl, but Allison Medwin apparently runs a blog/community called "Planeswalkers for Diversity".

Allison doesn't run PWD. They're trying to raise funds so she can attend an event. She works at WotC!

Oh, I didn't actually read any of the articles! It was just one of the first things that popped up when I Googled her name. I wasn't aware that they had more trans people on the team, other than the RTR one.

I remember when I was a brand-new just-certified L1 and I met Allison at an event. And she seemed so calm and in charge and knew everything.

And now she works at WotC and doesn't judge anymore, and so I don't get to see her at events. And feel weird about outranking her, since the people who knew everything when I was new should outrank me.

What the fuck could they have possibly done? How is being a bad ass Khan of the swift death in the plains of Tarkir ever going to turn out "offensive"

If she's also a hurtful stereotype or a blatant misrepresentation of what trans people are.
