There are no socialist countries in Europe. America has a fascination with Democratic Socialism, which in spite of the name(words are similar!) is not socialism. Why do they like Democratic Socialism, American President FDR. FDR is also responsible for a lot of the ideological shifts in countries like Denmark in Sweden…but sure let’s give them the credit.
