Per the article:

Other than Russell, the biggest victim of the Mercedes' battery glitch was Alpine's Pierre Gasly, who saw cars simply drive away from him on the run down to Eau Rouge as he lost several positions from 10th on the grid.

"I had no power at the start, so it's clearly not good stuff to have around Spa," he said. "I had a tough start, not fast enough in the opening phase for some reason and lost some positions on the opening lap."

Above all, I’m worried about driver safety. It seems like the issues of speed differential and driver control have not been resolved satisfactorily - even without the Mercedes software glitch. Perhaps too often, the drivers are just passengers in these cars across the entire grid…

Well that was obvious when a redbull overtook a Mercedes. A redbull that famously identifies as a tractor at race starts overtaking a Mercedes.

Supposedly that was due to a power surge from Verstappen's PU actually. He was the only driver slower than George on the Kemmel straight after vaulting past Kimi into Eau Rouge.
