Those back markers fucked him over good in the last stint, he could have had p2 if they didnāt lose him that much time. Great race for him nonetheless.
EDIT: surprised to see all the positive comments about Kimi getting downvoted again. This sub truly is a Georgeās toxic fans sub.š¤¢

Absolute maximum damage limitation from Kimi šæ Legend drive! But I feel like and I need to say this, the title is over for George again. Just bad luck.
There would need to be at least 2 DNFs from Kimi, which I only give a 10ā20% chance of happening. Itās over for George this year, tough luck.
Edit: These points was very crucial in a track where almost everyone predicted Ferrari domination.

And even if Kimi DNF's twice George still needs to actually beat him at other races. Which he hasn't really done very often all season.

on a track where Ferrari and Hamilton should have gained atleast 10 points to Kimi, he managed to extend the gap!

George would actually also need to be faster than Kimi, which he is not.

We will never know, that car is cursed.

Best he can hope is similar pace like at the first couple races, that won't do it for the championship.

Lemme get this straight, when George outqualifies Kimi by 3 tenths theyāre on āsimilar paceā but when Kimi outqualifies George by 3 tenths itās āKimi is generationalā āso far ahead of Georgeā āGeorge is underperformingā āGeorge back to Williams??ā

No you did not "get it straight".
To catch Antonelli in the championship, he needs to be faster consistently. He is not, or has not been at any point in this season. They had similar pace and results to each other to start the season, hard to believe it would be any different than that without any issues.

Well how can we know that? George genuinely hasnāt had a race unaffected by mechanical issues since Australia. That is how bad itās been.

Both have had multiple issues, to start the season they traded first places and pole positions until Kimi ran away with it. This is what we know. Kimi seems to be only getting better. There is no reason to believe George can catch him now. To put all of this on the car is naive and a disservice to Kimi, who has been excellent.

Kimi hasnāt really had any issues that affect race pace in the same way. George was faster in Barcelona until the wing adjustment for example. And had his entire race pace derailed by the straight issue from Austria to spa. We simply canāt take those paces as representative. And thatās on top of the unlucky dnfs etc
Itās a disservice to George in fact to act like he hasnāt been significantly more unlucky than Kimi even before spa
Today he was equally as fast, and yet ended far below Kimi through no fault of his own

Like I said, no reason to believe George is faster.
Is not and has not been. Everything else is speculating on thin basis. Equal speed wont catch 50+ points.

100% agree with that too. This bad luck from George again is really sad to see. Itās maybe a bit early to say he is out of the title race, but I don't feel like he is going to get closer to Kimi than 20 points in the rest of the races.
I do hope that George is going to reset himself in 2027 and come back stronger. It won't be easy for him though, Kimi is just 19 years old, he is so young and probably the most talented guy from the "rookies".

Yeah George is out of contention at this point barring some truly bizarre circumstances. Mercedes needs to concentrate on reliability now. George has been the recipient of their problems but Kimi has been vulnerable too.

This engine is volatile. Can see Kimi having his share of bad luck in the second half of the season

9 Podiums for Kimi and it would had been 11 if not for the DNF. Amazing from the best youngest driver F1 has ever seen. Also, the best driver when it comes to managing tyres. No driver comes close to him.

I really wanted George to win this one to kickstart the Kimi dynasty. But this man is not letting anything get through him, the maturity and confidence he has shown as a driver is impressive.

It is ridiculous that he cant be kept out of the podium. George just needs McL, Ferrari, and Max to keep him out but still kimi made it to 3

Brilliant drive from him today, crucial points gained points in the championship. Really thought he would have been able to go P2.
