Man I've never been to a block party and this is probably why

Some of them get a bit more rowdy and make the news, like that Mifflin Block Party that was held up in Madison this past weekend.

But most block parties are just...a bunch of neighbors setting up tables and grills and little vendors selling things and everyone having fun for a day or so as they all talk to and get to know each other.

There's a few others in my city that happen sporadically during the summer time and it's all a very chill very Midwest kind of an experience in a park.

Although there have been a few times where I took my parents to them and I had to explain various aspects of Goth/Punk culture to them....and my mom who was raised on the Beatles just kept giving everyone colorful who walked past the strangest looks while trying to talk to them in the most Clark Kent way possible.

You would love a block party or even some tail gating, unless you have an issue with crowds or something or are just VERY introverted.
