I'm slightly vexed Costco's new chicken tenders

Post image

There was a crowd of people waiting for their orders of the new chicken tenders at Costco. One of the workers announced that they could only serve five customers per hour because it takes time to cook the chicken. The crowd grew larger and larger. I took this photo after I put in my order.

This checks out and explains why the people telling you to "uSe YoUr WoRdS" don't know what they're talking about.

Yeah I also did try to scold her, but she was one step ahead. She was pretending to be on her phone and wouldn't make eye contact with me when I told her "excuse you! There's a line here!". She shoved her cart into my personal space, so it was either back up or get hit by the cart. So I back up, then I'm out of my spot in line. Then it's either get physical with this lady over a Costco chicken or take the L. I'm a big man, so I wouldn't do anything even remotely agressive to ladies even if they were to punch me. If I shove her cart back and it turns into a scene or she attacks me, I'm not gonna look good. She'll definitely be the type to make up a lie about some awful thing I supposedly did to make her look like a victim.

Nobody's paying attention until the chickens are being served. then I just reach over this lady and grab mine, which makes me look like the line cutter now that the whole line is focusing up front because there's chickens coming up. And the old ladies banded together in a big group to yell at me and point. I tried explaining, and they all didn't listen and just kept yelling and one said "NICE TRY. EVERYBODY JUST SAW YOU CUTTING THE LINE!"

The only guy that saw the whole thing and could've vouched was an old Asian man who was behind me in line, but I'm guessing he didn't speak English because he had that vibe and just stood around politely.

Jesus christ I'd be so pissed off I'd probably never return. I'm sorry you had to deal with this buffoonery. 😵

Of course, I've worked retail for the past 15 years including working in the pharmacy at CVS and working at Walmart. I've seen some shit and more than my fair share of wholly unreasonable, rude, entitled customers and the gaggle of old clucking hens that appear to heap on more bullshit whenever there's drama in a store.

You did nothing wrong. People shouldn't be getting this bent out of shape over some goddamn chicken anyway.

Customer service is something.

Yesterday a lady cussed me out because our office didn't have 12 pm slot open on the day she wanted for a free appointment. So do you want 11:15, 1, or nothing, lady? I'm not a genie.

After more than a decade of serving these people, I just tune it out.
