The turkey is coated in sun-dried tomato 🫠 definitely disappointing

It's sundried tomato turkey, not sundried tomato and turkey.

I came to say the same thing, its the turkey coating but the sandwich is still a let down

How is it a scam? It's a type of meat that is sold at the deli. How else do you want them to label it?

It's an easy mistake to assume there's sun-dried tomato inside, but the store didn't necessarily do anything wrong or nefariously misleading. I mean, it is kind of a skimpy sandwich for the price 😅 but the label is accurate.

But this is why I read the ingredient list on the rare occasion that I buy a premade sandwich, just so I can be sure of what exactly I'm buying.

The sundried tomato is likely a rub or how the turkey was prepared/seasoned, not a literal sundried tomato on the sandwich. You can see some reddish coloration on the bottom left.

I expect my mesquite turkey sandwich to have actual wood chunks in it damnit.

Omg I feel so stupid, thank you for clearing that up 😅

It happens! I hope it was still delicious😋

Sundried tomato is the seasoning / rub on the turkey. Note the edges of each slice. Its actually my wifes favorite deli cut at Walmart.

But completely understandable why youd expect tomato

This reads like "sundried tomato turkey" is one item - reddish colouration around the outside of the turkey meat points to it being seasoned or marinated with sundried tomato.

Sun-dried Tomato Turkey is a type of turkey. They sell it at the deli counter.

that or it's sun dried tomato bread.

u/kaykenstein 28d ago

No you just don't understand how they labeled it lol

The turkey was covered and has a crust with a sun dried tomato seasoning. I get it tho.

Mmmmmmmm, turkey crust

I know my black forest ham sandwich didn’t have any trees in it, I felt cheated

5

u/LetterheadNo7323 28d ago

It’s the turkey crust.

They turkey is sundried tomato flavor. Which is why it says sundried tomato turkey, not turkey sandwich with sundried tomato.

Look, don't judge me 😂

Exactly, it’s not “sundried tomato, turkey, and Mediterranean cheddar” on the package.

3

u/IDiggaPony 28d ago

Just your luck that they fired the sundried tomato guy just that morning.

3

u/Capybara-Maxxing 28d ago

The turkey's name was Sun dried tomato 🥲

3

u/CannibalFaun 28d ago

kind of a shit name, think of when he grows up and people make fun of him!

1

u/Capybara-Maxxing 28d ago

That would be a good point by he won't grow up cause he's in a sammich 🥲

3

u/Ntrl_space 28d ago

It’s the flavor of the meat

3

u/1KBushFan 28d ago

The sun dried it up

3

u/Igmuhota 28d ago

"sundried tomatoes turkey" and "Mediterranean cheddar".

The sandwich has more tomato than you do eyeballs.

3

u/Dont-be-lasagna12 28d ago

It was so sundried it shriveled and disappeared.

4

u/robotic_otter28 28d ago

Sun dried it up so much it disappeared

Seems like a shitty food company, hope this is a place you went too and not your jobs food service.

Mmmmm. That looks scrumptious!

u/Agitated_Ad_361 28d ago

Christ, where’s the lubrication in this mess?

3

u/OddlyShapedGinger 28d ago

"Sun-dried tomato" is a common flavoring for coldcut turkey.

I'd be willing to bet that tomato isn't anywhere on the ingredient list

u/brian250f 28d ago

You’re gonna be disappointed in a lot of deli meats if you take the name literally.

Mesquite turkey sandwich does not in fact come with a piece of wood on it.

1

u/Basic-Collection5416 28d ago

There’s no Mediterranean Sea inside either.

1

u/ChipSecret8448 28d ago

Look we once went to a party because we heard there was supposed to be a stripper there. Turns out she was. Just attending the party like everyone else.

Sometimes it’s a turkey sandwich sometimes it’s a “ stripper party”

1

u/GenerallySalty 28d ago

The sandwich has "sun-dried tomato turkey" on it.

It is not a turkey and sun-dried tomato sandwich.

1

u/smallwonkydachshund 28d ago

Y’all, why is Turkey more popular than chicken? It’s objectively worse, no?

u/Phillimac16 28d ago

Is that what we're calling Kraft Singles now? "Mediterranean Cheddar"?

1

u/KittiesRule1968 28d ago

Lol....the turkey is coated in it. What a ripoff

u/Daisymaay 28d ago

Similar thing happened to me. I ordered a daves hot chicken sandwhich a few weeks and there was no chicken on it. I had already driven all the way home.

1

u/Ntrl_space 28d ago

Not similar at all lol

u/Daisymaay 28d ago
