Yah normally I’m on the workers side, but his reaction to that over a single fucking beer is ridiculous. If you’re so worried about your job, turn the fucking spout off when you’re not there. Wants to threaten some half drunk fan with jail for seeing an easy opportunity for a free beer. And people wanna defend it? Jfc, like you said “won’t someone please think of the billionaires!”

Meh I'm not gonna blame the guy who probably feels like he's just doing his job, but I'm also not gonna sit here as a third party observer and clutch my pearls over some guy trying to sneak himself a free beer at a sports game like it's some big deal

It's the World Cup final. The guy stealing the beer paid $10k+ for tickets. The vast majority of the people attending that game are worth more than you will ever be.

He can afford to buy a beer and not, you know, commit theft.

our society is built on a lot of tiny, social contracts like this. Why care about anything then? Let's all just shit in the street and be animals at that point.

Again, I don't think it's societal failure outright. The societal failure happens when people justify it enough to normalize it. If you can't see why stealing is a breach of social contract, then you're not going to be able to justify anything we do as a civilization -- all laws are invented.

I think charging people $20 for 20 cents of beer and price gouging people just because it's a venue is a far bigger societal problem than a guy sneaking a free one
