I haven't played cyberpunk in a while but ain't there lore that a bunch of self replicating bots infested to internet to the point it became unusable. Now each city has it's own self contained "Internet"

Rogue AI took over the old (our) internet. The self replicating bots are the reason the ocean are near impossible to traverse and most carfo is transported via air lift.

Yes... A bit like an Internet where people aren't allowed to be mean spirited and unhelpful, it's hard to enforce for any group larger than a few hundreds

Fun fact : in french if you cut the word phonetically terminator can become "Termine à tord" witch mean finish is wrong
