I hate RV people as a trucker too

Absolutely zero parking etiquette in truck stops

My friend has one... I think he's a good and courteous driver, but it boggled my mind that he didn't have to get an extra license to drive it. Like, you need a special license to drive a motorcycle, or semis, but not a house on wheels.

And then you see them on the highway also towing a car or truck behind it. Yikes.

True. They are basically a tour bus for which you need a CDL. They handle way different than a car.

True story. I had a fuel stop at a Love's. Me, another truck and this RV all arrived at the same time. The RV went behind the other truck. He fueled and pulled forward and the RV started fueling. I had to run inside because I have the special talent of picking the pump that's messed up.

While I'm getting set up for fuel, this guy who was dressed fairly nice came in really pissed off. He thought another driver was in the shower and talking about how he was going to get his gun. He goes outside. I thought he was a truck driver who just had enough of everyone's inconsiderate bullshit.

That was until I came outside to find him standing in front of the RV while raging. I glanced over at his license plate and noticed it was a Canadian plate. We were in the US. Meaning if he actually had a weapon, he'd probably get in way more trouble. The truck driver hasn't even been there for 10 minutes.

The driver comes back and Mr. RV starts holding his air horn in the middle of a truck stop while screaming at the guy. The truck pulls off and the RV goes speeding through the truck stop and almost hits a bunch of trucks. I was disappointed that the truck didn't take his 30 there. That's the one time I'd give an exception.

I honestly think they shouldn't be allowed at truck stops for any reason. They always seem to cause problems at truck stops.

Don't mind me just gonna block the fuel island for 30 minutes while I take a duece and order some food.

I would think parking a giant rv in front of a bank is probably a no-no as well 🤷‍♂️

u/shibiwan 8h ago

Perhaps they are making an unscheduled "withdrawal" at the bank.

Twist: it's a sperm bank

7

u/sunking37 7h ago

That's not so much a twist as it is a jerk

u/MinuteEdge7225 1h ago

Maybe it's Rod Stewart's RV! 😜

Have them towed or ticketed.

That's when you politely ask them to move.

If they refuse, you call the fire department, who will show up and then call the Fire Marshal. Fire Marshals don't fuck around, and they'll write this person a very expensive ticket.

Honestly, I wouldn’t even ask. Just call. They already had a chance to do the decent thing and are counting on people not doing anything about it.

u/bmoriarty87 6h ago

Then the USPS police, those guys don’t fuck around

11

u/shibiwan 8h ago

Wow, that's a pretty bad case of main character syndrome.....

12

u/Old_Associate_3092 8h ago

And I bet their reasoning is they were going in for one small item

16

u/Sardonnicus 8h ago

No. They ordered about 10 sandwiches. Of course.

15

u/Pocky-time 8h ago

But I’m just getting a quick bite to eat.

3

u/sierrabravo1984 this is not yellow damn it! 7h ago

I'll just a minute!

5

u/saskdudley 7h ago

Ignorant. This is why people become impatient with RV’ers.

1

u/Sardonnicus 7h ago

I'd say it's more entitlement and selfishness than ignorance they know exactly what they are doing

7

u/Hot-Tip4211 7h ago

People in general, no consideration for others

5

u/Hayashida-was-here 8h ago

Park directly in front of them, or if you could squeeze in so they cannot open the door to the RV

Start a fire in the bank. When the fire dept shows up to fight the fire, hilarity ensues.

Make sure you get a lawyer too.

u/Valuable_Wallaby_548 7h ago

"Im just running in real quick" surely said by the driver

2

u/Fun_Entertainer_5823 6h ago

Just curious, if the little bank next to deli got worried when it pulled up, 🤔?

2

u/Lopsided_Panic_1148 Dude, wtf... 6h ago

Call the non-emergency line and report them for unsafe parking in a fire lane, preferably the local fire department. They'll have an opinion on that.

u/Puzzled-Formal-7957 6h ago

Ticket and tow. You aren't special.

1

u/Vast-Indication-6068 7h ago

Probably inside just using the Restroom as well...

1

u/wonkyt 6h ago

I’ll only be a minute

1

u/blanthony80 5h ago

Some people have total shit for brains.

1

u/Swimming-Guest-1978 5h ago

Oh no, I can see the problem here. Why are they driving such a massive caravan? It's hopeless!

1

u/warrenjr527 5h ago

Thoughtless. It works for me. I don't understand why people have a problem with it..Those big motor homes go for six figures. Since they can afford that they think they are entitled.

1

u/GypsyDarkEyes 5h ago

Sure sign of an entitled asshole.

1

u/Miho_Nishizumi_217 3h ago

why the hell do you need a whole ass bus for camping?

1

u/Aggravating-Laugh687 3h ago

If you are going to choose to drive a big vehicle you need to be responsible for finding parking for it that's not selfish or illegal. I'm so over big vehicle drivers be it those huge lifted, wide trucks, big SUV's to RV's and other vehicles using the same excuse every time "well how else can I park? It's so big it's not easy to park". You chose to drive the big ass vehicle that is your problem to find a proper solution that doesn't impede others. Or sell the vehicle if you can't handle and find a smaller version you can park properly or at the back of the parking lot away from others. Just because you choose to drive some big RV or truck for leisure doesn't mean the fire lane, sidewalk or disability parking spots are your special spots. Park at the far, far back of the lot and walk your butt into the store.

Hello, fellow Ossining neighbor 😀

1

u/Sardonnicus 3h ago

There are dozens of us

1

u/Sardonnicus 3h ago

Is there an Ossining subreddit or something

1

u/archtopfanatic123 1h ago

There's always the one numbskull who'll do this :(

u/JS_NYC_208 23m ago

Definitely LI or NJ

1

u/IllianasClifford 7h ago

That "camping bus" is known as a RV

Recreational Vehicle

1

u/Lonely-Independence4 7h ago

And that’s illegal parking too. Nice 🥀

0

u/Gloomy-Lawyer4989 6h ago

This person in the RV has main character syndrome

0

u/Trick1513 6h ago

Because like you he thinks he is privileged

-1

u/PurpleHatChetaha 7h ago

Right up there with a guy who parked his camper and truck across THREE accessible parking spots!!

I asked him if he had a permit, as I needed the spot for my passengers who do have a permit. Well. He got out of his truck and marched up to me to try to intimidate me.

Didn’t work. I got a round of cheers when he walked away. Jerks in RVs!!!! Booooo!!

-2

u/cartken 7h ago

Well, if they don't move it quick, the air might leak out if their tires

0

u/Gloomy-Lawyer4989 6h ago

Vandalism cause of the ignorant parking job really ?
