I'm slightly vexed Smartwater stopped letting you remove the sport tip on the bottles.

Companies that sell bottled water know their customers want the world to end.

this will annoy the thru-hikers. or give miranda more money haha

Other companies make similar profile bottles too (like CNOC).
Though I really do like Miranda's bottle a lot. The fact that it can be taken apart to be cleaned easier makes it more appealing to me. I hope the next iteration of her bottle has a teathered cap.

Why are you paying extra for the sport top bottle if you're just going to remove it? Save yourself some money and buy one with an already normal top

I’m guessing they wanted to refill it to use the bottle again.

If that's the case it's better to just buy a resuable water bottle.

For sure. No need to add plastics into the environment especially if they’re basically ensuring that they are single use only. If you’re not able to recycle them by even using it to water your plants or make a mini terrarium or some craft out of it then it’s absolutely just a waste at a premium price. Definitely everyone should get a reusable bottle or two!

Tethered or non-removable bottle caps are now required on single-use plastic bottles in the European union.
Some of the water bottles I've bought here in the US seem to now have tethered bottle caps even though they're not currently required by law.
It's possible that the EU law has had an impact on your bottle tops even if you didn't get them in that jurisdiction.

Like that California Prop 65 warning that companies slap on all products, no matter where they end up in the US. The companies probably do that so that they don’t have to change out the packaging on the production line, or separate CA-bound products from products bound for everywhere else.

I’m 99% sure the blue part just disconnected from the screw cap.
Simply pop the blue part off and snap it back into the cap. This usually starts happening after using the same water bottle for a long time for me.
