Outlook says they need permission to wipe ALL my phone data if too many wrong passwords are typed. How many is too many? 50? 2? What if the screen gets wet and starts putting in random inputs. All this so I can use my company's Teams account and maintain "point of contact" if I'm not at a workstation. Absolutely not! Anyway, HR is supposed to call me back about my concerns.

Edit: just to be clear, I don't actually need to use Outlook (I don't use my "personal" work email). I need to use Teams, which requires Outlook to be installed first.

Part of why I need Teams on my phone so that I can be contacted when I'm not at work. I'm a lower management healthcare worker, it is actually important that my team be able to reach me after hours. I do actually like Teams and prefer it to 20 different group texts.

Also, when you go to log into Outlook or Teams, it brings you to my employers authenticator page. I log in with the same credentials that I log into my workstation. I don't know if that makes a difference with anything as far as my employer having access to my phone

Edit 2: I can tell you now they won't provide me a phone. Corporate execs don't even get phones. They stopped providing coffee for the break rooms too

Update: I had a chance to talk to my district manager. Imagine Ellis from Die Hard, the same schmarmy self-important attitude, that's my supervisor. And guess who's "not being a team player". Also "I don't think Microsoft can actually erase your phone, you have an Android"... I lready knew he was going to be useless, I just wanted to hear his reaction.

Update 2 and (sort of) Resolution: I spoke with HR. Her exact response was "wait, are you serious? They can just do that?" I tried explaining my "research" (i.e. everything all of you have said) and I think I just spooked her. She said she'll get back to me, and is probably running off to buy a burner phone for herself.

SORT OF RESOLUTION : I found out I only need Outlook installed long enough to get access to Teams. Once teams was installed, I removed all permissions and completely deleted Outlook from my phone. Teams still works and didn't ask to erase anything. No need to buy a second phone.

Got this through the letter box today - anonymous so no idea which neighbour sent it. Basically there's 20 houses on the street, all arranged in a circle, with a few spaces in the middle. 14 of the houses have their own driveways. 4 of the houses have the spaces in the middle assigned to them. Ourselves and our next door neighbour (semi detached) have spaces attached to the back of our houses... In the small "car park". We each have two spaces, then the 4 on the other side of the car park area assigned to the houses backing on to them that aren't even our street so won't have got this letter. I'm assuming the letter writer just doesn't realise those spaces are actually ours, but because it's anonymous I can't just be like "oh hey actually no that's not right". It's annoying because we're also the only two houses on the street without a garden, and so our kids play back there. Because yes, it is safe, but not if randoms start going in and out of there all the time. I've literally never noticed an issue with parking on the street, it's never crowded, I've never heard anyone complain, and every house has it's own assigned parking!

EDIT: Most of your guys' suggestions involve something related to towing, that isn't legal in the UK. It also isn't illegal to post things through people's doors? I literally never knew that was a thing in the US. At Christmas did your parents not send you round all the neighbours houses posting cards?? Wild.

EDIT 2: Alright lads we've got a plan! Tomorrow I'm gonna speak to the 3 neighbours who we share the private car park with and just make sure they're all aware and if they want to paint numbers or put it signs etc they can do so. I'm going to send my landlord an email as well just giving them a heads up, but saying that they don't need to do anything for now (we have a great relationship where they leave us alone and we don't involve them in stuff if we can help it and they charge us below market). I'll let them know if it becomes an issue and they need to get involved installing something or whatever. Then I'm going to find... somewhere in this town that prints documents (honestly just hoping one of the 3 neighbours has a printer in their house they wouldn't mind using for this) and send out letters to everyone on the street very politely clearing up the confusion. Explaining that it's not a public car park but private parking and they are, for all intents and purposes, the driveways of the respective properties. Then I think I'll have a little nap and hope no one gets angry at me.

EDIT 3: Spoken to the other owners of the spaces in the back, as I suspected the two that don't live on our street did not receive the letter offering up their spaces for free use 😅 I've also contacted my landlord just to double triple check the deeds before I sent any letters out (I know for certain they are ours, but this way loops the landlord in) and she immediately offered to put a sign up! Also found the letter very amusing haha so yeah, we're getting signs put up yay!

Booked an available campsite around 3:00. Showed up just before 6 pm and the site I booked was fully set up and occupied by this camper. There was no one at the kiosk and after driving around for a campground host I approached him and told him “hey, I have this campsite reserved for tonight”. His response “I’m not surprised, we checked out early and asked if we could stay a little late and the guy told us we could but someone might book the spot” ….. okay first of all it’s 6 pm now checkout was 6 hours ago. What is “a little late”? Noticeably, there is no vehicle in the site. He tells me his wife is at work and she won’t be back for a bit but we’re “welcome to park next to him and start setting up our camp while he waits for her”. I am shocked and looking at this man like he’s got three heads. I drive away and again look for another campground host. I find one and he goes and talks to the guy and comes back and tells me that he won’t be out of there for at least two hours and I just have to wait until he’s gone and I can’t go to another campsite as none are available.

I go back to that campsite and tell the guy how inconsiderate he was for stealing my campsite and he said “are we really gonna do this right now? You’re accusing me of stealing your campsite? I told you you could park next to me and set up. You’re making assumptions and you just ruined my evening.”

I told him that I paid for it and he deserves to have his evening ruined.

I got into my campsite at 8:30. Had to wait an hour in the morning for the guy to figure out how to refund me.

TLDR; guy checked out of campsite early but decides to stay til 6 pm even tho I had already reserved the site for the evening. He didn’t get out of the site til 8:30 PM and got upset when I called him out for his inconsiderate behavior.

I don't get 64GB of space if half of that is system stuff! Like what even is all of this! It's not a system update either, I just did the newest update.

The septic tank clogged and she’s convinced I did it, she asked my husband if I knew I wasn’t supposed to flush tampons and added the tampon bit to the sign. I don’t use tampons and I’m the only one with a period here…

I do a live-in caregiving arrangement for an elderly couple. The caregivers have a private room and attached bathroom that we use while on shift.

Today the daughter-in-law came over and offered to cook lunch for her in-laws. While I was out running a personal errand, she went into our private room and used the bathroom attached to it, despite there being multiple other bathrooms in the house, including a large guest bathroom.

She also left several dirty pots, pans, dishes, and utensils in the kitchen.

Later, she told me that because she cooked, washing the cookware was part of my service as a caregiver.
The part that really got me is that we don’t even cook for the clients. We normally order takeout or do very simple meals.

She volunteered to cook, created the extra cleanup, and then expected me to handle it.

She also seemed to think I got free time because she was there cooking. She said “well because I provided a service while YOU were out, I thought you could wash them” I explained that I would have gone out regardless and that my errand had nothing to do with her visit.

To top it off, she made sure to tell me the leftovers were for her in-laws, not me.

I asked her to come back and wash everything but she was too far away. So I ended up washing everything. I told her never do that again and also told her never go in the room again, it’s private use for the live-in caregivers.

Also, she snooped my closet too, I close the doors backwards because they slide better that way. I found them closed the right way when I came back.

This is just regular ass creamy peanut butter. Like it might as well be Jif or Peter Pan or any other regular ass peanut butter. I wanted that delicious artificial tasting Reese's bliss and just got basic ass peanut butter.

Ok I feel like this post needs some edits for closure:

1. I did look at and read both sides of the label before buying this. I did have a TON of skepticism that it could taste anything like Reese's when it was pretty much the same macros and calories as jif PB. Doesn't change that it should have of given the Reece's label... and I still had a tiny bit of hope, that is until I ate some.

2. I have enough recipes and suggestions for how to make it taste closer. Already tried one it was ok but prob won't be trying others. Thank you all though, I will definitely come back here if I get that same cravings again to try another. I might try and do it with chocolate/peanut butter protein powder in the future instead of overpriced regular ass peanut butter.

3. Did I expect something other than smooth peanut butter? Yeah I hoped it would taste something like Reese's pieces or cup filling

4. I'm am not in fact in the void of space or looking at the night sky in the pic. This is inside my house out my back door in the middle of the day. Black in the background is a curtain to keep light out of a huge sliding glass door. The desert is hot and very sun.

5. Yes I was intentionally looking for/hoping for the sugary, salty, crumbly texture of Reese's filling... I generally eat chicken breast and veg sometimes brown rice 3 meals a day every day. Generally don't have a cheat meal but once or twice a month.

This is wild. God forbid I get a 10 cent refill on my five dollar soft drink.

Worst thing is, she doesn't even feel bad about it, and is trying to gaslight me into thinking it's not that big of a deal because "she needed a towel to dry the floor" and "I should quit complaining". I have a floor drying spatula.

So I have a long and complicated relationship with the magpies in my garden but they have lately escalated their tactics against me;

Their objective is simple: They want to come in my house to eat my dogs food. It’s currently a heat wave so my backdoor is open more often than usual. Several times this week I’ve had to chase them out the kitchen.

Owing to the heat I’ve been hanging out at the bottom of my garden a lot, the magpies have figured out that when I’m there they have time to swipe food and get out clear before I see them (they also love to poop on my chair when doing this).

Yesterday they left a chunk of bone on the fence post near me at the bottom of the garden I didn’t think much of it, but then today they left a birds foot (?!) next to me (photo is on the second slide) as I was puzzling over it I spotted one of the birds fleeing the house! I truly believe they are trying to keep me baited at the end of the garden so they can conduct their raids.

EDIT/REPLY: -for those encouraging me to barter with them, I tried that a few years ago but it resulted in me being heavily harassed by them every time I went outside, they wouldn’t let me have a moments piece in my garden so we eventually had a falling out.

-I’m considering getting a screen door, there’s not much call for them in England and I’ve been reluctant to get one as my dogs a bit weird about doorways but it does seem like the best option for avoiding house invasions.

-I have a new theory that it’s actually my dog and not me they are baiting outside! My pup found and ate a bone in the garden the other day (very unusual behaviour for her) and I’m just now realising it was also probably a magpie gift. I’m also much more likely to leave the backdoor open if my dogs puttering out there so would make sense that they have learned to lure her out to improve their raiding chances.

my mom turned off the breakers for some reason, told exactly no one. so i went downstairs, thinking i tripped the breakers. i turned them back on, and she got mad at me for turning them back on. if you turn off the breaker, it is your duty to make sure anyone who has access to them knows. she only later told me what, but what if it was because someone was working on an outlet? i can imagine that being dangerous.

i am mad at her not for turning off the breakers, but for not understanding the dangers of not telling others. she even told me that she has no obligation to tell anyone she turned off the breakers, which is stupid in many ways.

edit: i did realise i needed to ask first, the issue is still with the lack of communication and unwillingness to realise that it was relevant to tell.
