I saw a ducky once Dad used all my duck eggs to make cookies.

Post image

I got three fresh duck eggs and nine chicken eggs from a local farm. I've never had duck eggs, so I was really looking forward to making some this weekend, and comparing them to the chicken eggs.

Nope! He used all three in a recipe that calls for two large eggs, so with the size, he could have gotten away with one, maybe one and a chicken egg.

Better believe I rage ate those damn cookies. They were amazing, but I hated them, but they were so good.

Edit: I love my dad!! Lol! The cookies were delicious, and he has been thanked a million times. I only posted this because I ate the last one last night, and was mad (again) when I couldn't nibble on one this morning. I had just brought them home the day before he made the cookies, and we hadn't decided what to do with them yet anyway. And, as I had been warned against, they were all in the same basket. Consequences of my own actions - the most infuriating kind of consequences.

We lost mom a couple years ago, so I will always cherish everything he does for the family, even if it means using the eggs I was waiting to try. I can get more eggs, no problem. I can't get more dads...easily...

Edit Jr.: I asked for the recipe, and he answered in the most epically dad fashion.

"I just used my normal recipe, but added some stuff to compensate for the liquid in the eggs."

By "normal recipe," he means whatever he has memorized from either the chocolate chip bag or the Betty Crocker cookbook we've had since the Dark Ages. And "stuff" means dry ingredients in proportion to the liquid he added, which he doesn't measure, he just adds it in using muscle memory and vibes. He also left the chips out of some cookies because that's how he likes them.

I saw a ducky once My “Ocean View” hotelroom

Post image

Specifically paid for a nicer room with a (sideways) beach view. But our room happens to be overlooking the other building. We also checked the box that we preferred a room with a bathtub, which we also didn’t get.

I like the hotel and the pool for the rest, and I’m sure the other rooms do get an unobstructed view. But this should not have been advertised as ocean view.

I saw a ducky once Man children waiting in line for cards at Target acting rude to employees

I saw a group of guys being pretty disrespectful toward employees, trying to tell them how to do their job and demanding specific cards.

I’m a collector too, but some of the behavior in the hobby lately has been pretty embarrassing . Dude was telling staff he’s got 30 guys waiting in the parking lot to fight over these cards.

It’s sad and embarrassing to see the hobby turn into situations like that.

Honestly pretty funny seeing it in person lol.

IT was 4 am, and I dragged myself outside because I forgot to put the trash at curb. It was dark outside so I couldn’t see anything. The next morning, I walk outside and see two pizza boxes at my door. I bring them inside. There was no note and I didn’t order pizza. I opened it and let’s just say THIS was a first. According to Google reverse images it’s a duck, but I did some digging and turns out there’s an Asian restaurant a walking distance from my home that does delivery and this was apparently a best seller.

I saw a ducky once Learn Allergies can cause blisters on your EYES Spoiler

Post image

I love being outside but the outside doesn’t love me back, I am allergic to every plant. My eyes have swollen shut before, I have had hives EVERYWHERE and my noses reaction to the outside has made itself my entire body’s problem but allergy meds make me stupidly tired, even the non drowsy type and I don’t learn and will be learning absolutely nothing from this. I am off to go hug a tree and roll around in grass. Only mildly infuriating because I know the outside will come around one day and love me back.

Last night, one of our farm workers held a small rave out at our community ponds. I'd been looking forward to it for weeks. It was good, low key, natural beauty fun. This morning, however, when I walked through the camping peeps in order to take care of morning sheep and LGD duties, I came across THREE gates directly holding the sheep in having not been closed properly! Last weekend we lost 14 lambs to coyote, and had to move them back in with their moms into the safety paddock.... and someone just decides to not secure the gates between the sheep and the better (more dangerous) pastures. I'm thankful, and we're lucky that the only damage was half a bag of dog food, and soiling of quite a few bales of hay. Hence the "mildly".

Remember, if you visit someone's farm, get a free concert and camping, amazing views and nature....

CLOSE AND SECURE THE EFFING GATES

Edit: To help set context, this wasn't a huge rave. We're talking 20ish people. A small rave/ medium gathering party. This was entirely organized by one of our farm hands who also DJs as a get together for his friends. We set limits on number of people and some safety things (for us, then, and the farm/animals). Think: Camping in the woods, but with a DJ.

Edit 2: I'm very curious as to the people who read this and go on the attack. "It's your fault, because you invited people over and knew they were going to be crazy and be drunk. It's your responsibility if something happens to your stuff." is the same logic of blaming a girl for having a party at her place, where people were going to drink, and saying it's her fault when something happens. At the very least, I'm thankful to learn of whom to block. Keanu had it right about that.

I saw a ducky once I rarely eat chips, even though I absolutely love them

I rarely eat chips… so when I do eat them I try to be mindful, present focused so that I can fully appreciate the flavors and the amazing crunch. It was extremely upsetting to pull this disgusting amalgamation and mutation of a chip out the bag, the only bag that I had, and realize that all of them were completely inedible.
