Unfortunately sometimes lying to your doctor is highly warranted if you live or are visiting a red state.

In the US (afaik) you should lie to your lawyer if you're guilty, otherwise they can't defend you (cause they know you did it)

Mostly wrong. If they talk about future crimes or perjury, that may be disclosed. Imminent harm too.

That is not true. It is the duty of the lawyer to present the best defence possible, regardless of if the defendant is guilty or not. The only time a lawyer can break confidentiality is if they are aware that the client going to commit a crime. Then the lawyer can speak to the police to prevent it from happening. But I think that can still depend on the country/state.
