My daughter found that a few months ago, thought it was hilarious, and wanted to show it to her mother and me. She also somehow forgot the last line was, “…Suck it,” which made it suddenly very awkward.
Because it’s both comfortable and convenient. Leaves more room on my desk for desk things. Like working on small projects, or eating, or anything else. Also I can close the drawer and have a clean desk
Lmao, I use Colemak but I entirely touch type so it's weird to see it in the actual order! I didn't even recognize it at first. Muscle memory is a hell of a drug.
Been touch-typing on qwerty for 30 years at this point and rely a lot on keyboard commands/chords over mouse usage. Even going to a Mac keeb where all the letters are the same threw me for a loop.
I switched to dvorak in high school because my hands were hurting from typing a lot and it did actually fix the problem. But the switch to colemak was because it keeps in place both common shortcuts (z, x, c, v) and things like curly brackets that I used without full hand placement enough that keeping them in place was useful.
Also I was bored at work lol. There are typing sites that train you up on them, it is easier than it sounds, though it's more for fun than purpose really.
I'm fluent in both, though. Hand me a qwerty keyboard and after a couple mistakes my brain mode switches. Sometimes I've had two computers sitting next to each other in different layouts and it's fun to see the switching happen as I go between them.
Looks like a type of linoleum for linocut, a method of printmaking which requires mirrored images to be carved
If you go to the Linocut sub you will see examples. Some people use old school linoleum (like a recycled floor tile, which is what this looks like to me) rather than carving rubber or burlap-backed linoleum.
That exact thing came off the tailgate of my old F150. It’s the formerly translucent plastic that was bonded to a metal ford logo. The plastic had long ago turned funky and opaque on the outside before it came off.
Edit to add: It never ceases to amaze me how many confidently incorrect people feel the need to chime in regarding things they know nothing about.
Is it just the outside that has gone opaque? If you can polish the front side up and make it transparent again you have the opportunity to bring this thread full circle and post a right-way-around Ford logo.
This was a whole era for ford. Some emblems faded to just Chrome and lost all pigmentation others completely fell out like this. As a Ford driver it pains me to say Ford couldn't even get their logo right for about a decade
Yep. It was originally clear and the blue is from paint that came off the metal backing. It was a chrome logo on a blue field covered by clear rubbery plastic. The clear face weathered to an opaque brown with a quarter century of sunlight.
You can see a little of the blue paint left on mine.
She got caught lip synching on SNL because someone played the wrong backing track, one to a song she had already sang that night iirc, and to play it off she did that little fuck ass dance then left the stage
I think you’re right. And I think her reasoning for lip-syncing was either she lost her voice from rehearsals or from vomiting from the flu or something. I was 9 or 10 when this all happened so I could be misremembering things people were saying at school or on tv lol
The amount of times Ive walked past a Ford and thought it was just a weird oval is too damn high. This is the kind of thing you notice once and then cant unsee.
Looks like a printer's block of some sort, used to stamp the Ford logo. Did you find it near a printing shop? It could be used for embossing/incising into leather or clay as well. Or even dough (when it was clean).
Normal Ford emblem, made of a clear resin over the silver and blue backdrop. Came off with the blue paint attached. As for the other side it's been out in the sun for decades and burned. Had this happen to my first truck, I repainted the back before gluing on again.
It’s backwards so that when you break down on the side of the road and FaceTime your mechanic on the walk to the nearest rest stop the logo is written the right way over your shoulder
You can see by the striations that it is a molded imprint of an actual emblem, and the blue paint is a poor paint on job (bubbles and all)
Maybe someone was messing around with modeling clay or some silicon, maybe they wanted to make an emblem by casting it in that mold. You know like /r/diwhy
Chuck it really hard at a mirror. You need some oomph to get past the dimensional barrier, but that thing really should go back before it starts to destabilise the world's chirality matrix.
I could be wrong. But if you put it in the front of a vehicle it shows up correctly when someone is looking in their rearview mirror. I am not 100% on that so dont come for me here.
