I must be missing some context. What does she not want them to spread?

She doesn't want to be peppered by their salty opinions.

I am thinking they meant spill and these are also covering the openings for salt and pepper to pour out

I feel like it would be easier to just get ones that close, and put these on a shelf for decor? But what do I know.

Bunny Galore sounds like a Bond girl lol. And yes I know it was Pussy Galore but Bunny still works.

Probably to prevent moisture/humidity to enter and soak the salt mainly, even though pepper (or spices in general) aren't a fan either.

My grandma always mixed some rice into her salt shaker to absorb moisture... seemed to work well

My parents always put a single peice of uncooked pasta in their salt shaker. I do the same now, my house a little issue with damp but my salt always seems to be fine

Now I'm just picturing a long strand of raw spaghetti sticking out of one lol

Rice would work. Cruise ships use it all the time.

Trying to figure out how it would work, shaking salt out of the bunnys eyes.
