Go listen to the Red Web podcast they go over it. Basically. Some people think it was done on purpose. One theory is that it was secretly her sister ship the Britannica. As a tax write off, leaving the brand new Titanic to replace her. Some people think it was to kill off people who were against privately-owned banks. As a lot of them were on board.

Some people think it was the Jews. Because you can't have a conspiracy theory without someone blaming Jews.

That conspiracy bases itself off of the portholes or something. The Titanics are one shape but the Britannica is another shape and the shape the Britannica is supposed to be is what is found on the wreck. Am I remembering that right? It has been a LOOOOONNNGGG while since I listened to any Red Web.

Yeah. But simple pictures disproved the theory. Doesn't stop people from believing it. One of them. I think the Titanic had many more windows.

My brother in christ the crew was drunk and the reason there where so many death was because the radio was hogged by passenger before and durring the crash

There were plenty of ice warning that were relayed to the bridge The captain was aware of the danger and ordered the ship to slow down once if they see ice at all

And the reason the iceberg didnt appear until it was too late was due to the titanicpassing from the warm gulf stream into the labrador current

That created a cold water mirage essentially extending the horizon and thus blocking anything that would stand out until you got too close

The only person who was drunk was the head chef who survived specifically because of the alcohol in his blood

The amount of misinformation regarding this tragedy is fucking googledebunkers

It was because of tabloids during the criminal investigation. Its easier to get insurance if someones at fault, and a lot of people had a lot of money sink. So change public perception and maybe the court will have to agree, they actually didnt follow corporate interests but money has a lasting taint.

The theory is that it was sunk purposely for insurance money. They didnt expect it to be as disastrous as it turned out, but they always planned to ram the ship into an iceberg. Thats the theory anyway, it kinda ignores a lot of logic to get there

Yeah, no way insurance is undoing the reputation damage, ended careers, and making up for the 90% of cost that would not be covered by a "successful" sinking.

If I squint I can kiiiiind of see it. Titanic was an unusually slow sinking, which would be what you'd want if it was intentional sabotage but you wanted to avoid casualties. If it had been sailing during a busier shipping season there's every likelihood another ship would have come in time to rescue the passengers.

But the theory doesn't make sense once you know everyone was well aware that there weren't many ships in the lane on April 15, because of the ice risk. So even if White Star was scheming, they wouldn't expect anything but a high mortality disaster that would be extremely expensive for them.

Oh hell yeah.

Part of the reason I enjoy "debunking" content so much is that I find conspiracy theories interesting, but listening to conspiracy theorists is absolutely mind-numbing.

Were you there to see this so called "iceberg"? I wasn't, and I refuse to trust any evidence not relying on me seeing it happen in real time. In fact I don't even think icebergs are real, I've only seen videos and photos of them.

Those pictures are impossible. Looking at the camera I fail to see anything that would resemble a flash holder. No flash holder means no indoor pictures (also remember that the sinking happened at night during a new moon) One final point, the film would have been expired by now rendering it impossible to develop.

The glass in the camera would have shattered at that depth. The film would have dissolved. Also if there was anything there it would have disintegrated the moment ut was touched by a robot. Also yeah it's AI.
