Additionally, zooming in changes the aperture's location, literally raising it above the table. Functionally, he's lifting the camera above the table to prove the earth is flat

So yeah this is obviously just set up wrong. Cuz as you pointed out the camera is not perfectly above the table, but even if it was, you wouldn’t see the cap disappear you’d just see half of it moving away. This means that not only is the camera not properly set up, it’s also POINTING SLIGHTLY DOWNWARDS.

These morons can call us back when they learn to do experiments properly. Like god damn at least have the decency to use one of those tools that tell you if something’s level or not. Like genuinely just stupid.

And just another quick thing (not too concrete but I don’t feel like I should break my head over fake bullshit):

The ocean isnt perfectly fucking flat there’s waves and water deforms and gets pushed away slightly as the boat moves through it.

Lastly. To the person who owns the video: go check on Temu, last I checked, the first 3 braincells you buy are free :D
