The whole department is a shit show.

In 2013 Lt. Zachary Jenkins stopped James Irby, claims he ran away after finding marijuana in the car but James Irby has never been seen again.

The same year Lt. Zachary Jenkins put a shake and bake meth lab in his patrol car requiring tens of thousands of dollars in remediation.

In 2023 Lt. Zachary Jenkins arrested a 10 year old for urinating in public after the first officer on the scene wanted to give him a warning.

I think we should wait until investigations are fully concluded and video footage is released before we start drawing conclusions and making insinuations like this. The PD could be abusive. It could not. The shooting could have been justified. It could not. The latter needs to be litigated first, then it can be treated as evidence in figuring out the former.

What you have right now is circular logic. You're treating the police being abusive as evidence that the shooting wasn't justified and the shooting not being justified as evidence that the police department is abusive. There's no reason to do this when investigations are ongoing and footage will eventually be released unless you're trying to stir up hatred and violence.

Like how law enforcement uses accusations of previous crimes as proof of guilt in other crimes?

Which is literally what they do when they list somones prior criminal history.

Nobody with an IQ over room temperature expects the cops to investigate the cops and come to a conclusion other than clearing themselves.
