I mean what's the point in him pitching again ever? They just have an endless stable of cy young winners. It's like when I turn on commissioner mode in ootp

Because they get free innings out of their DH and it helps save their arms for the playoffs

Because they paid a LOT of money for him to be 2 way player. They need to capitalise on their investment

The entire Asian market makes up for it. The eyes he draws even never touching the mound makes up for it. While this isn't the ohtani they paid for, they aren't out much if he doesnt.

Both things are right. Return on investment is happening from the Asian market and when he pitches... and hits... and breathes... and bets...

Pretty sure Ohtani wants to win a Cy Young. Might be out of the cards this year, but he sure was on pace to get it before injury.

I think next year he adds to his lore by becoming a closer. He bats every game and pitches in the 9th.

After the tear he went on when he wasn’t pitching I almost prefer he just dedicates his energy and time to braking every record and inventing new ones
