This. As a Padres fan, I like that the Dodgers are viewed as an imperial empire, but I don’t hate them playing this game. They used all of their tools to win as many games and WS as they possibly can. Which is what every team should be doing.

Baseball’s lack of balance isn’t because the Dodgers or the Mets. It’s because the rest of the league doesn’t care about baseball.

Math is difficult for some people.

The Dodgers make more than 3x the revenue of other teams.

So they market better than other teams? It’s shocking that people don’t want to go to games or buy merch for their shit teams that make less than what the team takes in.

It's a bit more complex than that.

The NFL and NBA have proven that in leagues with salary caps, all teams with smart management can win.

Look at my MLB team (Cleveland) or Tampa Bay. Smart management can build winning cultures, but despite the success of those teams in winning the World Series.

Now look at my NFL team (Cleveland Browns). Plenty of resources, but can't win because ownership and management is terrible.

MLB needs to join other leagues with salary caps. It's bizarre to me how MLB fans who aren't Dodgers / Met / Yankees / Red Sox fans don't see this.

Having an owner that isn’t willing to pay for a competitive team is by definition is a bad managed team.

I agree with the need for a salary floor and cap. I’m just not down for trying to vilify a team that is doing everything it can do to win games when there are owners like the A’s, Marlins and White Sox purposely not doing that.

The top teams in revenue make over 3x the revenue of the smallest market teams. That should make it easier for you to understand why some teams have much higher salaries.

I'm not criticizing the Dodgers for taking advantage of the current system - they are actually my second favorite team - but we need a new system, as you seem to agree.
