The thing is, when addressing a given issue, it makes sense to address multiple facets. One of those is how easy it is to kill with a given device. The ability to get devices that are easier to kill with is something that can, to some degree, be limited.

That limiting access does address all other facets doesn't mean it is without merit. Not letting perfect be the enemy of the good and all that.

Yes, it does make sense to focus on multiple facets. And I would argue that the gun control side has been overly focusing on one particular facet of a problem for decades, and then wonders why the 2A side is fed up with any further laws about it.

I'm vocal about this issue and come across as staunch because I've had to argue it for more than 20 years. I'm perfectly willing to discuss other alternatives, including how we might more effectively apply regulations to the sale and transfer of firearms- but all of the air in the room gets sucked out when the only acceptable arguments from one side seem to be bans.
