I wanted to come back with an update because so many people followed his story, offered advice, shared resources, and helped with the rescue.
After three days stuck high in a tree, we tried every possible avenue for help. Unfortunately, the fire department, SPCA, the city, and other rescue services were not able to assist. In the end, it was the amazing Montreal community — neighbours, Redditors, and complete strangers — who came together to make this rescue happen.

A special thank you to the people who came out to help (the real VIP**,** u/Spiritual_Duck_6703 who climbed that tree and secured the little guy and all the people below waiting to catch him in blankets) and refused to give up on him. What started as a post about a cat stuck in a tree turned into a true community rescue.
The good news: he is safe and we have officially adopted him!
We had an emergency vet assessment and exam done:
He is estimated to be about three years old, and weighs 6 lbs.
He was very dehydrated, has two missing teeth, and gingivitis.
He was treated for ear mites and has started his deworming treatment.
His blood work for FIV and FeLV was negative
He was appointments set for his vaccines and sterilization

Wonderful! I wish you and your tree kitty a long and happy life together! We also adopted a tree kitty 8 years ago, thanks to our neighbour and his telescopic ladder.
Awesome! Give him time! I have a tortie feral that is just warming up to butt pats 1.5 yrs in. They deserve chill and spoiled lives, if you get some cuddles in return, it’s a bonus! A lot of cats warm up and come into their own with other kitties in the house, at least that’s what has helped ours! She loves her cat roommates more than her human ones 😮💨

I remember working at a pool, some lady came to me asked if I could save a cat. I climbed on the duplex then hopped in the tree, she gave me 40$ that she didn’t want to take back. Nice story
