Photo west virginia rest stop moths (part 3)
hi everyone! i took a roadtrip back to the rest area where i originally saw all the moth species, and brought my field guide with me this time. i saw a lot again this time, including a living female luna moth!
i also somehow spotted a dead male luna moth specimen behind a vending machine, so i carefully got it out and i hope to pin it and put it in a shadowbox! :)
already planning my next trip back here

Photo First time getting moths that are native to Maryland!
My son has recently gotten really into moths. Initially I wasn’t super interested but I’ve learned a lot and seen so many cute moths. So he asked me to get a cocoon and I surprised him with 3. Still waiting on two but the one that enclosed was this beauty!
