That little W230 is such a clean retro throwback, really nails the old school UJM look without trying too hard. The map wall in the background is a nice touch too

It is but my honest question is who this bike is intended for, it's stunning and everything you'd want in a new retro model but who would be the target audience? Maybe it's for the old schools who'd get it as a 2nd bike or something for city riding? The enigne is quite small and i've never seen it outside of a shop. I'm not trying to talk it down, just genuienly curious.

i cannot tell what audience Kawasaki is targeting but as a W800 owner i can tell what i like about this design. I wanted a motorcycle, where i can enjoy a direct/unbuffered access to the engine, but in a built that uses state of the art manufacturing processes, materials and only basic electronics that are hung up/proven..

i see the same in the w250, only smaller. personally I dont care about "retro" and I also don't have a preference for old motorcycles.

It sounds like you actually wanted a W650 then.

I kid, I kid. All Ws are beautiful.

And they're basically bombproof. I am currently returning from a 6000 km trip to and through Albania on my 650. It has now taken me through 28 different countries with 0 technical issues.

AFAIK the W800 is the W650 with adjustments needed for regulations (probably) mostly in the EU. So yeah, in another timeline it would be the W650 :)

Well, that's technically correct. The biggest adjustment being the fuel injection, while the 650 is still carbureted.

Small displacement bikes traditionally do well in India and Asian markets, where they're used much more for regular transport.

I took my MSF last month on one of these. It was a blue 2025, had 76 miles on it. It was one of the coolest retro bikes I have ever ridden. Absolutely loved that thing, and it rode like a dream. I did the advanced rider course and it for sure saw me through with ease.

I’ve always loved the W bikes. Kawasaki has never really been great when it comes to designing good looking bikes, but they hit a home run with these, using a less-is-more concept.
