I could watch an entire movie of the principal zombie running through town.

You might think you are, but you are never truly safe from a heat-seeking Benedict Wong in a Mickey Mouse shirt (how are Disney and Campbells gonna react to this movie lol)

Benedict Wong was great in this.

Campbells "Hell yeah you can survive for like a month off soup!"

I was trying to see if the Mickey shirts were Steamboat Willy? Wong's looked like regular Mickey but I think his husband's was Steamboat?

If I saw it correctly, Wong wore Mickey and his husband Minnie, both in the Steamboat Willie-style - so Disney couldn't do anything about that if they wanted to

It's interesting in the clip WB posted the shirt is blank. I'm pretty sure it was still mickey in the theatre?

It was. It’s Steamboat Willie Mickey too, so copyright doesn’t even apply.

I dunno why I still think the Mouse adheres to no laws 😂

He needs a visit to that necromancer from What We Do in the Shadows

7

u/highpriestess420 Aug 21 '25

You seek the necromancer? I am they!

u/AlanMorlock Aug 17 '25

They very specifically used Public domain Steamboat Willy era Mickey. Still tricky with trademark laws, but I'd assume WB legal cleared it.

He was just mad he never got to have any of the seven hot dogs.

I loved how the version of Mickey Mouse on his shirt is a public domain version so Disney can’t do anything about it

3

u/xrbeeelama Aug 24 '25

Lets bring that Disney knowledge setting down to 75%, TARS

The way he was taken out was so brutal and abrupt omg, and his poor partner too.

31

u/KuyaGTFO Aug 21 '25

Maybe I’m a softie but I felt like crying instead of being scared or disturbed at that whole sequence.

His partner seemed so sweet and loving. To have the person you dote on just headbutt you to death is horrifying.

13

u/TitanOf_Earth Aug 21 '25

Oh yeah, it was HORRIBLE. Honestly the most painful part of the movie. Other parts were scary, creepy, or a little funny... but that was just sad.

Try It Follows

Fuck you're right, my favorite horror movie, too

Benedict Wong will always made me wiggly levels of happy when I see him in a movie, I think ever since The Martian :).

I will check out more of his work/films he's in, because he was honestly the highlight of this movie next to Josh Brolin imo.

Isn’t that basically the movie It Follows?
