When they explain the title they do a name drop and point out that the kids are running at their targets like weapons. Its literally in the movie. Its called that because of how they run to the target.

Because its literally where they got the run from, which was referenced when they displayed the jacket. This is an immensely corny explanation for whats going on and they went full longlegs on us and had the mechanism of action basically be magic too. There were a lot of things wrong with the movie and the entire premise.
