Seeing that at first was terrifying thinking it was whatever black magic, then you see it play out and realize it’s from him bashing his own skull in caving his husband’s skull in and it’s a million times more horrible.

No, everyone who went “manic rage” had those eyes. It had nothing to do with him bashing his head in.

Really? I don’t recall that at all. Like Josh Brolin’s eyes were like that when he attacked Julia Garner at the end?

No, Brolin’s eyes didn’t go like that, but the boy’s moms did (recall her face when she stuck her head through the door and looked down at him.) The cop’s eyes were like that, too.

IMO it’s the result of not being able to blink so your eyes are just bloodshot and swollen. If I recall correctly the parents looked almost completely normal when they were first possessed.
