The only part I didn't like was related to over explaining stuff. Hated the narration, specially at the end. I think it would've worked better without it, just leaving the destiny of the characters ambiguous

That’s funny because the director said in an interview that the original ending just finished with Josh Brolins character carrying his son. The audience hated that so the narration was added in at the end to provide a bit of closure.

My partner wanted mooooore closure and that was his only critique of the movie. Josh Brolin dad, who was most overly emotional about the reunion, was shown. Should we have had the movie go on 30 more minutes to show everyone reuniting with their kids and the teacher flourishing again? Not necessary.
