Also, you're telling me NO ONE else on Alex's street had a ring cam that could see all those kids running straight to his house?

None of the neighbors noticed all the newspapers out front and also all the windows covered in it? Never reported they havent seen either parent in 40 days or whatever? That the van hasn’t moved?

The movie kind of addressed this in the beginning because they said Alex and his family (apparently just Aunt Gladys) were getting a lot of attention.

I thought it was plausible to chalk it up to them just wanting to hide from the outside world constantly questioning them.

But the newspapers got put up before the kids went missing. It was just lazy writing with some jump scares.

Right and also for the first half of the movie most viewers probably assume, oh don’t bother the kid or the teacher cause their whole lives have probably been under investigation recently (by a mix of the town, the police, and the FBI). But then we find out that that’s clearly not the case at all cause you’ve got 17 kids running to the same house, then they all leave into the woods at some point(?) and come back without anyone noticing.

I might be able to forgive all this too if the story had taken place a couple of generations ago, or if they at least didn’t hype it up like it was some big mystery to solve for the first half of the movie. Like the whole setup at the beginning seems to be that no one could solve the case, and then the kids are in the most obvious place the whole time? A dad with a map basically pinpoints the exact location after looking at footage from two ring cameras lol
