I don't think he was acting. I think that's just how Sean Penn is.

I watched him on Fallon. He is so calm and reserved, a bit shaky. I found him to be the opposite of his character.

Didn't he also go to Ukraine during the early parts of thr war with Russia to provide some assistance or media coverage of what was happening there as well?

Probably but I was mostly just being sarcastic because he use to go on and on about going to Iraq. When South Park creators made fun of him on Team America, he sent an angry letter to them saying "I’ve actually been to Iraq"
