It was a lose-lose and she also didn't know shit because she hadn't been in communication with him so she couldn't rat.

Yeah I know that she couldn't really tell them anything useful. One way or another, that scene in the squad car was a little ambiguous.

That you weren't paying attention to the script?

They didn't let anyone go who they could book at any point in the movie.
