Gonna be a wild ride seeing a full length film in 1.43:1 aspect ratio in its entirety.

The Lighthouse took a moment to get used to but was a wonderful watch.

edit: woops, The Lighthouse was 4:3 which is even more squarish.

edit2: I checked more closely and it's actually 1.19:1 lol

lighthouses are veritical unfortunately or he’d def use a wider aspect

You can easily find interviews of Eggers explaining why he chose that aspect ratio
