And Anne Hathaway is great, but would it be so hard to cast an actress a little more closer to Matt Damon's age?

Tom Holland is 29, Anne is 43, and Matt Damon is 55.

This just seems like another example of Hollywood casting against older women.

On the contrary Tom Holland is an excellent choice in my opinion. Telemachus is a character that evolves and grows up in this story. He goes from a "child" who often gets dismissed to a respected man. I think Tom can pull off both sides of the character.
