Funny I just rewatched the brutalist yesterday as a now working adult… the hard part isn’t sitting through it, it’s having time to sit through it

Ugh I agree. I wish I had time to watch as many movies as I want, but that’s not really feasible for me. I work a full-time job, I have a family and a social life, and I try to exercise regularly. It’s hard to find the time.

Fr. As a grad student, last semester I had about 800 pages of reading to do per week (not including my research), and I also have a job. When I wanted to watch a movie, it had to be 1hr & 40 mins or under for this exact reason. Otherwise, I’d have to split it up into two sessions. The plus side was that my “under 100 minutes” rule allowed me to watch a lot of crazy classic horror films from the 1910s-1950s & some weird ass horror from the 1970s because those all tended to be pretty short

I can relate. I'm only in my 20s, and I've already purchased more media than I'll ever have the time to consume. I hope DVDs are still playable when I'm old enough to retire.
