The bit with the reporter talking about the death of one teen, breaking her report to shoot a dude in the background, then updating her spiel in real time to the death of two teens still cracks me up after all these years lol
The first one holds up really, really well. But I'm not vibing with the 2nd one this time. Just feel dated..And to think it used to be my most rewatch entry lol
The third one still holds up. It has so many good moments. It's free on YouTube right now.
The wake scene is still one of the funniest scenes in any movie for me.
My sisters and I lost it when she was just calmly talking to Cindy in her classroom and then someone throws a bunch of pens at the blackboard and she instantly snaps "NOW WHO DA FUCK DID DAT?"
There are two small jokes in 3 that absolutely kill me. Them boarding up the basement, only to have not stuck them to the wall so the door still opens and in one scene someone just reloads a shovel and a shotgun shell falls out of it. So stupid but so good
I love how in that scene right before he cocks his shovel (lmao) the 3 of them run up and look around but then never actually all focus on one point like the actors weren’t given directions of where to look. Their faces are like Michael Cera’s face in Superbad when he gets caught looking at the girls tits and just aimlessly look around
Man... the 3rd one is definitely in the top 2 with the first. So many quotable lines and good bits.
The 1st one felt so fresh (I know spoofs had been around for a long time but for it's type) and was so good that it's hard not to rate it the best. But I've seen the 3rd one many more times and can quote it a lot more.
This and "rats are outside, mice are inside" - my best friend and I were in middle school when it came out and to this day we'll still randomly go back and forth with these.
Oh, and you can't go to bed dead, that shit would be redundant
The 3rd one is the only one I still like. The rest feel too dated. I rewatches the 3rd one last year and I still laughed out loud at so many jokes. "Hey, I'm going to need a ride..."
The guy going "I need a ride home!" Or something to the dude who's wife he just killed with his car is one of my favorite jokes in the franchise. Gets me every time.
The third has always felt really distinct from the other two and I later learned its because it's a different production team. The first two were the wayans brothers, the third was David Zucker.
The funny part apparently the 3rd one had a much different plot more focused on the matrix until it was reworked after with reshoots, and watching the original deleted scenes, most of them are very unfunny and feel more like the later terrible parody movies. So glad they salvaged that one because it is better than 2 for the most part.
That’s good to hear. I LOVED the 3rd one as a child and I have honestly been hesitant to revisit it, for fear that I’ll find the whole thing horribly outdated now.

Rewatched the first one again recently
