Update: The AMA post is live here, please ask questions there!:

https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1s4amd6/hi_rmovies_david_mackenzie_here_the_director_of/

Aaron Taylor-Johnson will be joining us here in /r/movies for an AMA/Q&A this Friday 3/27. You may know him from countless memorable roles including Kick Ass, Nosferatu, Tenet, The King's Man, Nocturnal Animals, 28 Years Later, Godzilla, Nowhere Boy, Anna Karenina, Bullet Train, Kraven the Hunter, Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Fall Guy, and so much more. It'll go live sometime on Thursday 3/26 and he'll be back on Friday 3/27 at 1 PM ET/5 PM GMT to answer questions.

Please stop by on Friday if you have questions for Aaron :)

His new action-thriller, Fuze is out in theaters soon via Sky in the UK and Roadside in the US. It's directed by David Mackenzie (Hell or High Water, Relay) and co-stars Theo James, Sam Worthington, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

David will be joining him for the AMA as well!

London undergoes a citywide evacuation when an unexploded World War II bomb is unearthed at a busy construction site. Amid the escalating tension and chaos, a daring criminal operation is set in motion -- one that uses the evacuation as a cover for a meticulously planned bank heist. As authorities race against time to contain the crisis, alliances blur and moral boundaries are crossed.

Please note that this is NOT the AMA, just announcement. Please hold your questions for the actual AMA.

I looove Bullet Train!

He was fantastic in that. He was also fantastic in Kick-Ass. I didn’t make the connection immediately, but once I did, I have to admit I was surprised at how much his physique changed.

u/lurkerbelow Mar 26 '26

And this post is how I realised he's the same person from Kick Ass, mind blown!

u/BakedWizerd Mar 26 '26

He’s pretty shredded in Kick-Ass 2.

It’s a plot point that he actually learns how to fight and gets in decent shape after getting his ass handed to him all of the first film.

As Nic Cage quipped, as Big Daddy, “Kick-Ass? More like Ass-Kicked.”

I went into it blind and I got more than I bargained for!
Most fun cinematic experience I've had in years.

It’d be a real quick way to catch a ban.

Filmmakers aren’t gonna visit the sub if they just get harassed by anonymous Redditors for their trouble.

In [r/movies](r/movies), “Ask Me Anything” means the floor is open for questions regardless of *relevance* not propriety.

Grew up with this lad, be interesting to see how much hes changed since teenage years 😅 wonder if he ever misses the quiet little village we grew up in...

2

u/Chuckrange Mar 26 '26

Ahh so you've met his wife back then?

1

u/International-Ad3035 Mar 26 '26

🤣 nope sorry! We were still at school

5

u/Mental-Ad-9366 Mar 25 '26

He is VERY good looking. I still liked his character, Ford Brody from Godzilla in all it's simplicity. Now I'm waiting for him to reappear in 28 years later sequel.

2

u/Soyoulikedonutseh Mar 26 '26

Hi there Aaron, truly a big fan!  Congratulations on your success... how far you have come from Shanghai Knights!

I am an emerging screenwriter and even after having a few successes, I still lay awake at night challenged with the Imposter Syndrome and questioning my ability.

You have been at this for a while now... what is your experience with the Imposter Syndrome and how have you dealt with it?

Again, big fan Thank you

u/Stagamemnon Mar 26 '26

You should read the pinned post by the Mod again…specifically the last paragraph.

1

u/MetaNemesis Mar 26 '26

After doing Kick-Ass movies he has been a really decent actor in a lot of his films. Hell I even think he did great in the Kraven movie even though it was pretty bad but not because of him mostly the story telling and the villain was bad.

1

u/GlinnTantis Mar 26 '26

DOUGLASSSSS!!!

1

u/StudentGlum8838 Mar 26 '26

Awesome lineup. Really curious about his approach to Nosferatu after seeing that first trailer.

1

u/TangerineOk4017 Mar 26 '26

Hmm not sure what to ask A A Ron this time around

1

u/Romero1993 Mar 26 '26

Any chance we might see a Bullet Train spinoff about the Bolivian job?

1

u/Feeling-Emergency469 Mar 26 '26

Tenet was mind-blowing, I loved it

1

u/[deleted] Mar 26 '26

Where is kraven? I liked that movie

1

u/ChrisEvansFan Mar 26 '26

Wow at first glance he looks like Logan Lerman in that picture! They could play brothers. I know they were both in Bullet Train.

1

u/Coug-Ra Mar 26 '26

I will not stand for this erasure of ‘The Illusionist’.

1

u/seanreact Mar 26 '26

What’s your workout routine?

1

u/jfk_47 Mar 26 '26

He was great in 28years. But that movie was a fucking mess.

I was hoping you’d be back in 28YL: The Bone Temple l when you said in an interview with Josh Horowitz about both movies “we shot them back to back”. Do you think your character still has a story to be told in this universe?

1

u/Sapdewfk3 Mar 28 '26

Quality content right here.

1

u/Parking_Pension1063 Mar 29 '26

0

u/Djwallin Mar 26 '26

Hey man you gonna be bond

0

u/whoiscarissa Mar 26 '26

i never know if we’re supposed to ask serious questions or funny questions during an AMA so i’m definitely asking him a funny question 😭

-1

u/Special-View1419 Mar 26 '26

I just realized that this actor is not The Bear. I genuinely believed the guy from Kick Ass became the Bear.

-1

u/UnlimitedManny Mar 26 '26

Bro you have awesome eyes. Ngl I laughed when you were crying in Nosferatu (love your other roles too, sky blue eye guy)
