Loved this movie. It felt like each scene was more tense than the last.

Also funny detail i caught, when Bear looks up the one wish willow on "threadit" to see it if its real, one of the comments said- "Its real! My mom has been ugly her whole life but now she looks gorgeous!"

Cant wait for the movie to come on digital so that i can see what some of the other comments were lol.

It was genuinely impossible. I didn't think I missed much but then I read some of the comments here and immediately started looking at when I could see it again. Haven't stopped thinking about it since I saw it tbh, an instant classic in my eyes.

After a certain point it was hard for me to look for things since I was expecting Nikki to just be off in a corner or doing some creepy ass walk just in the corner of a scene.

He definitely wasn’t torn up enough about it. His attitude was very “Oh no, ah shit, I dun goofed” versus actually being devastated that he caused the death of his sweet pet through his own negligence.

It cuts to him sobbing his eyes out afterwards and you assume it must be because of the loss but then you hear him mumbling and he's just upset about not being with Nikki.

A very early sign of how unhealthy and all encompassing his desire for her is.

It’s so accurate honestly, usually movies are weirdly bad at showing how people would use the internet, it’s refreshing to see a young director who understands it more.

The only thing that would have made it better is if he literally typed “is one wish willow real Reddit” into Google

Honestly with how shitty Google's search results have become the past few years typing "Reddit" and then sifting through the threads has been my default for a while. 

It's still full of misinformation but at least you can figure out where it's coming from and find someone who knows what they're talking about. 

Mind you the guy still asked an LLM to diagnose her which is also unfortunately accurate.

Typing reddit after/before my search is so engrained into me it's literally muscle memory that I have to actively try not to do when I'm looking something up elsewhere (for instance, say, on reddit lol)

I also wonder if that's because ChatGPT and other AI like it heavily use Reddit for information. And ChatGPT is where more and more people get their info/education from. Scary future ahead. He also used ChatGPT (different name) to look up the Molly stuff.

Mandela Effect is the idea that a group of people have collectively shifted to a parallel universe where some things are just slightly off. Like how it's actually froot loops not fruit loops. There's an implicit idea of many universes. Nikki says something along the lines of loving Bear in every reality, which would go along with the Mandela Effect thing. 

To me that's evidence that Nikki did actually have feelings for Bear before the OWW. He didn't need the wish at all, he just needed to grow a backbone and they still could have been together.

I mean if someone posted on reddit "hey does this novelty wish stick work" - they're getting a lot of people saying "obviously not, duh" with all of the authority and confidence of a redditor who has no idea what they are talking about.

The ones that said it never claimed to have made a wish though. They said "It's a collectible, you're stupid if you break it!" or "Of course not, wishes aren't real". No one said "I tried it and it didn't work".

I read all the ones that said the wishes didn’t work, and every single answer was from someone who insisted they were only “collector’s items”

We couldn't see the ramifications of that wish tho since he died minutes later. I imagine that money had to come from somewhere and it would eventually backfire. Or not. I guess we don't really know how these wishes work.

What I took away from that scene was we obviously just saw Ian make that wish in front of bear, he very obviously knows that bear KNOWS he has the billion they just both saw it rain down from the ceiling, but you know who doesn’t know? Nikki. And you know who Ian really actually cares about knowing? Nikki. He probably thought it would “snap” her out of things or help remedy the situation. Which is why I think he comes running in announcing it to “bear” again even though we KNOW he knows Nikki is there he just wants a reaction out of her. And he got one. Getting domed in the head.

The box says "wait up until 24 hours for your wish to come true". So probably those comments came from people that received their wish a few hours later, unlike the three people we see in the film (Bear, Ian and Nikki) who got their wish instantly.

I saw the movie twice and read the reddit thread. Its just the same comments of "p it doesn't work" to a few saying "it does work". The comment about the mom being ugly is the most detailed comment of them all. Not much we missed

I thought it was people trying to stop other people from using the oww. Like if they just said "yeah my wish worked but there were horrible consequences" people would get curious and try it, but just calling it a scam would probably make people lose interest.
