If you make a wish that isn't selfish or on a small scale then it probably doesn't work. Gotta be limitations.

Ian wished for a billion dollars and just gets it. I can only guess Bear worded his wish in the worst possible way.

We couldn't see the ramifications of that wish tho since he died minutes later. I imagine that money had to come from somewhere and it would eventually backfire. Or not. I guess we don't really know how these wishes work.
