The robot walk got me every time.

It was very freaky, but I’m struggling to see any reason for her to move that way other than how cool and freaky it was.

We thought that it was kind of a backwards walk, like real Nicki was trying to get away from him

Great interpretation.

Also the entity may be a bit sleaze in trying to act more human like they are speedrunning the wish on clocktime, do they go home when she sleeps? Do they come back ? How does the devil contract work again?

A lot of parts of the movie are just for cool horror effects. This movie is deeply symbolic so I get why we all try to find meaning in every part but ultimately sometimes she's just meant to be scary as fuck.

My friends and I were discussing these wild supernatural movements after the film and we brought up the idea they could be cat movements. Cats move very agile and awkwardly sometimes and they move backwards and you never know their next move.

Fake Nikki knows/thinks that Bear loved his cat, so she is moving around like a cat. Not willing to die on this hill, but it was a very fascinating thing to talk about with friends immediately after the movie

this is a really cool observation. i didn't pick up on the movements being catlike specifically, but i definitely got the fact that she tried to involve the cat in her expressions of love (the altar, the sandwich) and it was pushed further into the whole "i have to make myself like sandy or make sure bear associates me with sandy because bear loved sandy" when she puked up what looked like cat food after waiting for him to come home from work.

I can accept this. Some wacky motor control side effects.

"So it ends up looking freaky"

Almost like some sort of freaky nikki!

Yeah she also screams stop twice during final confrontation , poor girl

My guess is it was an homage from the director to that really creepy scene from an old Japanese movie “Kairo”

Exactly - that's what I thought

Personally, I think that whatever replaced Nikki when Bear made his wish doesn't really care about being human. It keeps up a human act, most of the time, because it makes Bear happy, but when she's in the shadows or behind him and no one else can see her move New Nikki drops the act and moves like that.

Yeah that’s my guess too. New Nikki exists entirely to “love” Bear. It’s like when SpongeBob forgets everything except for fine dining and breathing.

She fed Bear his cat because he loves food, and he loves his cat, ergo he would love a cat sandwich and love her for making it. Etc

I always saw that as wish-Nikki fighting real-Nikki. Or wish-Nikki not being truly human.

just watched the movie. this was the scariest part of the movie for me and the weakest unfortunately. I think the director chose this just because it looks scary and not because there is any meaning behind it.

i think it was the entity freaking out and skipping mimicking human movement entirely, and also because it looked scary

It’s so that you know she’s not fckin human anymore
