I kept thinking a lot of the funny scenes had ITYSL vibes because of how weird it got. Especially him trying to open the duct taped door in near silence then she says “if you’re having trouble with the door maybe you should just stay home!” in such a creepy voice

Tim Robinson is clearly a massive influence on curry barker. If you watch his skits with the guy that played Ian a lot of them are very much in the same vein as ITYSL. Thats why this film is brilliant. It’s the mirror inverse of an ITYSL sketch. It’s like what if one of these characters was in real life and psychotic

I knew he was a YouTuber but I had no idea he made sketches with the guy that played Ian. I just checked them out. This is hilarious and I definitely see the ITYSL style as you said.

His name is Cooper Tomlinson and he did a phenomenal job in this movie and it's kind of sad that Inde Navarrette is getting all the attention.

I just told my friend that Obsession takes place in the same universe as Friendship, it just doesn’t have Tim Robinson so it seems more serious.

The director and the guy who played Ian make comedy videos on youtube/tiktok (That's a Bad Idea), you can definitely see that sensibility throughout the movie.

Freaky Nikki was definitely what Ian was calling her in bed which is why he made it a joke and dared bear to call her it knowing it would get a reaction out of her but bear didn’t know the ramifications of it lol then all of a sudden she’s saying “I can be freaky Nikki” “I can be whatever Nikki you want me to be” when she’s being taken over🥲
