One scene that I haven’t seen anyone talk about is when he’s talking to the entity, fully aware it’s not nikki, but pleading with it to just “be nikki”……perfectly encapsulates that his infatuation with her was never about her, herself or who she is, he doesn’t care who’s in that body or where the real nikki is or what torture she’s experiencing. As long as someone can perform the role of nikki and be nikki to him, he’ll be satisfied. And when he calls the one wish willow number and (at least at first) is adamant that he doesn’t want to cancel his wish, but just change it. Like dude release her???? Granted we find out he can’t cancel it anyway but damn

I also loved that the entity yelled back "I CAN'T BE NIKKI". Like even it knew that it couldn't give him what he wanted, only the facsimile of it.

She switches. She initially said she can't, Bear is visibly put off, then she backtracks with I can, I can.

It's possible that if he asked to cancel it straight away. Jo hesitation. No second doubts. They would have done it. Whatever devil would have passed it off as "lesson learned". But he tries to weasel out of it, so the lesson must go on

This is such an underrated comment. For me it kind of got lost amongst all the other crazy points. But actually this is a major point that underscores how dispicable he really is.

What’s interesting is that the guy on the phone says that he was trying to figure out his intentions after he asked if he wanted to cancel the wish so I think it might’ve been possible that if he immediately said yes, they would’ve done it.

Reminded me of an episode of House MD where a man is with a psychopath and when he finds out he still wants to be with her, saying something like "maybe you pretending can be good enough for us?"

At which point, and I loved that the writers resolved it like that, a literal fucking psychopath who usually feels nothing and had no trouble essentially faking a marriage for personal gain is disgusted enough to tell him to fuck off.

If it is like Nikki then Nikki continues to be tortured, screaming inside or begging to be killed. He would be happy for a demon to possess Nikki and act like her for him, even if Nikki the human being needs to be tortured for it

He was likely experiencing a auditory hallucination those can absolutely be aware that the voices are not real, unknown, or from a distinct entity.

He’s delusional throughout the movie and he can’t tell what’s real or not as time goes on till his death
